Dallas Software Founders (DSF) is a volunteer-run community. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We keep this simple because our use of your data is simple.

What we collect

When you join the list: the information you enter in our join form — your name, email address, company, city, LinkedIn profile, company website, what kind of company you're building, your role, and anything you tell us in the "what are you looking for" field.

When you visit the site: we use Plausible Analytics to understand basic, aggregate traffic — things like how many people visit and which pages they read. Plausible is privacy-friendly: it doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personal information or track you across other websites.

How we use it

We use the information you give us to:

  • Send you updates about what the Dallas Software Founders community is doing.
  • Review submissions and decide who to invite to our invite-only events.

That's it. We don't sell your information, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use it for anything beyond running this community.

Who processes your data

We use two services to operate:

  • Mailchimp — stores the join-form submissions and sends our email updates.
  • Plausible Analytics — provides aggregate, privacy-friendly website analytics.

Your information is handled according to those services' own privacy practices.

Your choices

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. If you'd like us to remove your information entirely, or you have any questions about your data, reach out to Greg Head — you can message Greg on LinkedIn or get in touch through the join page.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
